Questions
What families ask us
Who is camp for?
Skiff is for campers ages 6 to 15, with up to 35 campers a week. We welcome campers with different needs; tell us about your camper on the call before the first day.
Can my camper get in the water?
Water days have a supported way in for everyone: a pool with a ramp and a lift, and a dock with rails. Every camper wears a life jacket, and your camper chooses how much time to spend in the water.
What is the quiet hour?
After lunch the lights go low and the day slows down. Campers read, draw, listen to music with headphones or rest, in the shade or in the quiet room.
What if my camper needs a break?
The quiet room is open all day. A counselor goes with your camper, and campers return to the group when they are ready.
Does anyone on the team speak Spanish?
Yes. Anabella Delvalle, the director, and Florentino Lazo, the aquatics and safety lead, speak Spanish with families by phone, at drop-off and at pickup. Our pages and forms are in English.
How do I register?
Pick your weeks on our registration page, or call and tell us about your camper first. Registration opens in January, and full weeks have a waitlist.
What do we bring?
A swimsuit under clothes, a towel, a dry change, a hat with a brim, sunscreen already on, a water bottle and lunch from home. Bring your camper's own equipment and anything that helps them settle.
Who is in the water with my camper?
A lifeguard watches from the deck, and counselors are in the water with the campers. Tell us on the call what your camper needs, and we plan it before the first day.
Is there a tour?
Yes. Families are welcome to visit the grounds before camp starts, walk the path to the water and see the quiet room.
What if the weather is bad?
Activities move to the pavilion and the indoor rooms. We call and text families early in the morning if camp closes.
